New research* from Sainsbury’s Bank Car Insurance shows that there are over 7% more car insurance claims during the winter months than during the rest of the year. With forecasters predicting freezing winds, ice and snow will hit Britain, Sainsbury’s Bank Car Insurance is encouraging all motorists to take great care no matter how short the journey.
Tom Thomson, Head of Sainsbury’s Car Insurance said: “We’ve experienced some really challenging weather these last few weeks and if the recent predictions of more bad weather are correct, driving conditions could be impacted. Taking some small steps could help to ensure a smooth, safe trip, such as ensuring your car is fully serviced, slowing down in stormy or icy weather, and keeping a safe distance from the car in front.”
